Arrive Athens (Greece)

Touchdown in the birthplace of democracy this afternoon and transfer directly to the boutique Athens Capital Hotel, located in the chic Kolonaki district.

Meet fellow travellers and your Constellation Journeys team over a casual event this evening.

MONDAY 11 MAY

Athens

Stepping through the ruins of the Parthenon reveals a pathway to antiquity – formerly a temple, a church, a mosque and now one of the world’s most significant architectural sites – our guide will navigate you through almost 2500 years of history.

Explorations of the city continue after lunch at a Greek taverna. Tonight a special gala welcome evening awaits.

TUESDAY 12 MAY

Join Emerald Azzurra

This afternoon join our luxurious, privately chartered yacht, the Emerald Azzurra. Settle into your spacious stateroom or suite as we sail out of the harbour and towards our first magnificent sunset.

We come together for our first dinner in the stylish La Cucina Dine at leisure and embrace the atmosphere of camaraderie and fun that Constellation Journeys is known for.

WEDNESDAY 13 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Transit Corinth Canal, Itea

Connecting the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea is the 6.5km long Corinth Canal. Cut from solid rock, sheer towering cliffs loom either side of our ship, guiding our passage out from mainland Greece.

There will be ample time today to get to know our ship and one another. Relax poolside and order yourself a gelato or join fellow travellers for an aperitif in the Amici Bar and Lounge – whether you’re after an espresso, a wine or a cocktail, it’s all included.

This afternoon we dock in Itea and pay a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Delphi, renowned for its archaeological significance.

THURSDAY 14 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Olympia (Katakolon)

Katakolon is our gateway to Ancient Olympia, the site of the first Olympic Games in 776BC.

Discover the many archaeological remains – some built for Olympic events and others for the worship of Zeus, the god of sky and thunder whose temple can be found here.

Return to our intimate ship via a family-owned homestead known for producing olive oil and wine. Take a walk through the olive groves and enjoy some local snacks.

FRIDAY 15 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Milos

Greece is not short on idyllic islands and spectacular landscapes but with its turquoise waters and unusual volcanic formations, Milos takes it to a new level.

Stroll around the white stone houses and blue doors of the village shops, sample some delicious pastries and find time to explore the ancient Roman ruins cut into the hill. The pure turquoise water is hard to resist – refresh yourself with a swim from our ship’s Marina Platform or take one of the kayaks for a leisurely paddle.

SATURDAY 16 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Mykonos

Bathed in bright sunlight and adorned with eye wateringly white architecture, Mykonos is a tiny jewel in the Cyclades island group. It's your choice how you explore Mykonos today.

+ Explore this charming island and uncover succeeding civilisations from the 3rd millennium BC through to early Christianity at the rich archaeological site of Delos.

+ Discover picturesque villages, see the iconic windmills and enjoy a wine tasting at a nearby farm – there will even be some local Ouzo if you dare. A visit to a 16th century monastery provides a peek into the island’s long history. Before returning to our ship there will be time to take a wander around Mykonos town and lose yourself in the labyrinthine streets and white washed houses.

SUNDAY 17 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Bodrum (Turkey)

Midway through the 20th century Bodrum was discovered by artists and intellectuals, transforming it from a sleepy fishing village into an elegant Aegean getaway. The choice is yours in Bodrum.

+ Bodrum is home to the Mausoleum of Halicarnassum, one the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, until the Knights of Rhodes tore down the magnificent tomb to build the Castle of Bodrum. This morning we see the ruins of the Mausoleum and continue by foot to the castle. We’ll also visit the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, with artefacts from the Bronze to Middle Ages. Enjoy wandering around the charming town, finding time for an espresso at one of the attractive waterfront cafes.

+ Alternatively, join a traditional Gulet for a cruise along the Turkish coastline discovering hidden coves, deserted islands, and pristine swimming spots. Relax under the sun, enjoy the sea breeze, and dive into crystal-clear waters.

MONDAY 18 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Kusadasi

Prepare for a special day as you sail into the port of Kusadasi, the gateway to Ephesus – one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites.

Ephesus is truly astounding – and excavations continue to reveal further relics even today.

TUESDAY 19 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Gallipoli Peninsula

Our connection to Gallipoli runs deep – ever present through the narrative of Australian consciousness, but standing on the battlefields for oneself is indescribable, a once in a lifetime experience. Today it is your opportunity to pay homage and bear witness to the bravery of ordinary Australians who fought for the freedom of all in World War I.

We take a full tour of Gallipoli and ANZAC Cove today including the Lone Pine Cemetery, Walker’s Ridge and Shrapnel Valley – to name but a few of the locations.

WEDNESDAY 20 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Istanbul

Cruising the Bosphorus Strait into Istanbul you’re straddling the continental divide between Europe and Asia. Istanbul is a magical blend of east and west – a melting pot of cultures as it has been since the Byzantium period in the 8th century.

You could visit Istanbul ten times and still find yourself unravelling its mysteries. With a choice of activities, we’ll cover off the “must sees” and invite you to take the path less travelled.

Today we explore the extraordinary Topkapi Palace, home to the Sultans for almost four centuries. The views across the water are magnificent but inside the former royal residence is where the intrigue lies.

Wander through the grand courtyards and ceremonial rooms then step inside the Harem, a private world where the personal lives of the Sultans, their families and concubines played out. The remarkable cistern complex is also not to be missed.

This evening a very special gala dinner at a unique location within the city is a treasured memory you’ll keep forever.

THURSDAY 21 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Istanbul

Dancing to the beat of its own rhythm, Istanbul waits for no one. Today you decide which path to follow.

+ Launch yourself into a day of discovery, starting at the site of the Hippodrome, the sporting and social capital of the Byzantine Empire. The magnificence of the imposing Sultan Ahmed Mosque communes its status as one of the world’s most sacred places, stepping inside you’ll discover why it’s called the Blue Mosque. Nearby is the Hagia Sophia Complex, another of the world’s great religious monuments, which we visit before rounding out the day at the Grand Bazaar. Submit to the chaos and lose yourself in the labyrinth of twisting alleys. Will you let fate decide where you end up or do you prefer to let our guide show you the way? From leather, to gold, handbags to carpets – you’d be hard pressed not to find something that tickles your fancy.

+ Alternatively, escape the bustle and make like a local to experience a traditional Turkish Bath – or hammam. But not just any hammam, one fit for royalty. Originally commissioned by a Sultan’s wife the 16th century restored bathing house has its roots in Islamic and Roman architecture (additional cost).

FRIDAY 22 MAY

Constellation Star CMYK.png

At sea

A day at sea provides ample opportunity to enjoy the facilities aboard Emerald Azzurra. Relax with a good book, soak up the sunshine on the pool deck, or perhaps ease your active legs with a massage in the Elements Spa?

Our final dinner aboard will be a chance to relive the memories of the voyage and farewell new found friends.

SATURDAY 23 MAY
