Highlights

ANTARCTICA

Antarctica – a place that is both daunting and inspiring. A place of wonder and excitement. A place that is truly like nowhere else on earth.

From its discovery in the early 19th century, through the hey day of intrepid polar explorers including Scott, Amundsen, Shackleton and our own Sir Douglas Mawson, to the relatively recent advent of Antarctic tourism, the great white continent has enthralled those who dare venture south.

The early pioneers faced unthinkable challenges of the harshest environment in the world.  Today’s visitors fare considerably better!  We will again be partnering with Silversea to offer our guests the superlative Antarctic experience. Aboard Silversea’s newest, and arguably the world’s best, luxury expedition ship, Silver Endeavour, we will experience the very best combination of luxury and expedition, designed for travellers who seek the perfect balance of adventure and uncompromising comfort.

Join Silver Endeavour

Leaving ‘civilisation’ behind we join a private charter flight from Santiago to the wildly beautiful Puerto Williams on

Navarino Island.

Here we join the delightful Silver Endeavour.  Allowing your personal butler to settle you into your on-board sanctuary, enjoy the space a spacious bedroom and living area provide. Step out onto your private veranda, glass of Champagne in hand, as we sail out from civilization and into the ethereal world of the Antarctic Peninsula.

SUNDAY 23 NOVEMBER & MONDAY 24 NOVEMBER

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Drake Passage

The Drake Passage is an extraordinary voyage of romantic ocean faring legend and you’re in the expert hands of our experienced commander and crew. Converging warm and cool ocean currents attract some spectacular animal life to the passage including soaring albatrosses, perhaps even a protective pod of humpbacks or hourglass dolphins.

Enjoy these two days getting to know our luxurious ship, partaking in the exquisite dining you expect aboard a ship with European heritage.

TUESDAY 25 NOVEMBER

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Antarctic Sound

Your first encounter with this whitewashed kingdom is the Antarctic Sound, at the northerly tip of the Antarctic Peninsula.

It is a raw, sensory assault of imposing iceberg slabs, broken away from the disintegrating Larsen Ice Shelf. Come face-to-face with stadium-sized islands of ice and meet the extraordinary birdlife.

Late November and early December sees the penguin hatching season in full flight. While nothing in expedition cruising is ever guaranteed, we hope to encounter the fledging chicks today.

As cape petrels sweep overhead the continent’s extraordinary wildlife continues their foray into the emerging summer undeterred by the presence of mankind. Enjoy a choice of excursions today – Zodiac through the icebergs; hike onshore with the Expedition Team; or steer your own kayak around the Antarctic Sound. After a day of excitement and activity the luxe bedding and tasteful décor of your suite beckons.

WEDNESDAY 26 NOVEMBER – FRIDAY 28 NOVEMBER

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Antarctic Peninsula

Late spring is a particularly special time on the Antarctic Peninsula. The icebergs are at their most formidable and spectacular and the wildlife is in full flight, with breeding elephant seals in residence and whales migrating back south for the warmer months.

For three full days you will experience the snow-blanketed landscapes, extraordinary wildlife and colossal ice sculptures of the Antarctic Peninsula.

Our expeditions will be dictated by weather conditions but we’re in excellent hands with the highly experienced Silver Endeavour Expedition Team who know the best ways to experience the world’s least-explored continent.Zodiac around the waters, paying homage to the enormous icebergs and keeping an eye out for whales and sea-lions. Step onto the Antarctic tundra in search of Adelie penguins and fur seals, learning about the natural environment from the Expedition Team and on-board resident experts. You will even have the opportunity, should you wish, to hop aboard a kayak and paddle your way around the waters, in amongst the seals – a humbling experience.

Aboard the ship the naturalists provide informative lectures. And each evening you’re invited to join, your Constellation Journeys team in the bar prior to dinner, sharing stories of the day. You will always have the option to dine alone, with newfound friends or with the Constellation team – it’s entirely your choice.

SATURDAY 29 NOVEMBER

Constellation Star CMYK.png

South Shetland Islands

A day in the South Shetland Islands completes your Antarctic experience.  It’s a varied society in the South Shetlands – Argentines, Bulgarians, Brazilians, Chileans and Chinese call this region home (if only temporarily), as well as whales, elephant seals and penguin species such as Gentoo, Chinstrap and Adelie.

Join your Expedition Team on a hike around the lunar landscapes, perhaps even dip into the surprisingly warm,  geothermally heated waters of Pendulum Cove. After your day in South Shetland Islands, you’ll appreciate this was much more than a stop off point on the way home. It may even be the highlight of your voyage.

SUNDAY 30 NOVEMBER & MONDAY 1 DECEMBER

Constellation Star CMYK.png

Drake Passage

Your final days cruising can be as busy or relaxing as you please. Silver Endeavour offers plenty of diversions to keep youentertained – join a lecture given by the resident ornithologist and fill in any gaps in your knowledge of Antarctica’s birdlifeor meet with the on-board geologist and gain a deeper understanding of the land itself. Head to the glass walled lounge and enjoy a barista made coffee as you keep an eye out for the wildlife that frequent the Drake Passage. You may even wish to indulge with a spa treatment or simply borrow a good novel from the library.
